Pictures of Christ the King's New Building!                    Photos by John Randall
When you click on any of the pictures it will first get very large, then after 10 seconds snap back to normal size.
November 16, 2007.  Several
tons of steel and a giant Tonka
toy showed up in our new
parking lot.   Dick is supervising.
November 20, 2007.  The
port-a-poties can NOT go there!
December 17, 2007.  The picture to
the right doesn't do the space
justice.  The building space is a LOT
bigger from up here, right outside
the narthex side door.
January 15, 2008.   Workers are
starting on the foundation of the
new building!
January 24, 2008.  It's been very
cold this week, still progress is
being made on the foundation;
which was discovered to be on
solid rock, as it should be!
February 6, 2008.   Milder weather
has allowed the crew to start on
the back wall.
It is rising!  Rising indeed!
February 17, 2008.
Much needed rain slowed things
this week.  February 25, 2008.
March 4, 2008.   Pastor leads a noon
service that blesses the upcoming
event of pouring the slab.  A Bible, an
LBW and a Disciple 1 book are buried
into the concrete along with a list of
our current membership.
March 6, 2008.   Cement trucks
arrived at 4:45am and started
pouring the slab.  By 8:00 it was
all done!
March 21, 2008.  Holy Week sees
the building rising indeed!   It's
going to be an actual building!
March 23, 2008.  Easter Sunday.
The frame of the new building is up
and it looks like a church!
March 30, 2008.   This is going
to look like a real church.  The
second floor I-beams are being
attached.
April 6, 2008.   With the second floor beams
in place, there is a LOT of very difficult work
being done by skilled people.   The rivets
are the size of a big fist.  The roof and
second floor is being done.
April 8, 2008.  I hope everybody
realizes that Dick O'Brien is our
lawn service.   If you haven't already,
please thank Dick the next time you
see him.

The crew is busy constructing the
sub-flooring of the second floor.
Soon they will start on the roof!
April 18, 2008.   Workers have been doing
their high-wire show this week as they add
the roof to the building.  Also notice that the
second floor has been added.  First it was a
brace, then tin flooring, then a layer of
rebar, finally concrete.
April 23, 2008.  This is a really solid
building.   While it does put together
like a big erector set, each of the rivets
has to be placed correctly and
attached to the framing cross beams.
(not me, boss!)
