May 2, 2008. These folks are
moving fast. Now we have
internal frames and exterior
walls. It's going to be a
church real soon!
May 11, 2008. The first
floor education rooms and
offices are beginning to
take shape. Also, the
walls are being built. It's
like a great big erector set!
May 15, 2008. The building is
officially "skinned". The tiny
bulldozers are busy distributing
the pile of dirt to the back side of
the building before a rain storm
hits.
May 23, 2008. Bulldozers
continue to fill in behind the new
building. Soon the berm on the
highway 31 side of the church
will be used as fill. Inside, the
individual rooms are just about to
get sheetrock. The window
where the stained glass will be
placed is now circular.
June 1, 2008. The brickwork
on the exterior is coming along
fine. What's hard to tell from
the outside is how much has
been done on the inside. Most
of the interior walls now have
sheetrock installed. The
second floor fellowship hall is
HUGE!
June 8, 2008. We have bricks
and sheetrock. The brick
work is fantastic. When it's
done the church will look like
its been there forever. Inside,
the walls are nearly \finished
with sheetrock. We are on
the downside for our new
building!
June 15, 2008. Father's Day.
Folks, that's a lot of brickwork.
June 28, 2008. Two weeks
have gone by. On the inside
things have gone from
chaotic to dusty. On the
outside the brick now
surrounds the building, the
upper portion of the
exterior wall is being
prepped for finish; windows
have been installed and the
exterior stairway started.
