Most bridge clubs start out in the back room of a restaurant, in a church meeting
room, or in a community center.   The Shelby County Bridge Club is blessed to be
guests of
Riverchase Presbyterian Church, Rick Atkerson, pastor.

Alcohol and tobacco products of
any kind are prohibited on either church grounds.
Thanks!

Linda and I have lived in the Birmingham area since 1995, moving here from the
Seattle area.    We were married on the campus of Lehigh University on October 15,
1966 in my last semester at college.  Linda attended Moravian College, which is just
across the Lehigh River in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.   Linda was raised in central New
Jersey in the Mt. Holly area, where her parents and brother/family remain.

My mother is 90 and lives in Vestavia Hills.   We have two children, Robert (24) and
Nicole (26).   Robert will be moving back to the Birmingham area from Florida in
September.  Nicole and her friend Jeana live in San Jacinto, California where they
operate a day care for infants.   We have four cats (see home page); Mouse, Junior,
Tiger and Rocky (the terrorist).

Linda and I worked for IBM in Los Angeles, Bethesda MD, Norfolk VA, and Washington
DC.   I left IBM in 1987 to be a VP of a Federal systems integrator in Virginia.   Two
years later we decided to move to Seattle, Linda continuing with IBM.  I wrote three
novels (The Hatterask Incident, The Jihad Ultimatum, and The Tojo Virus) and hiked
the John Muir Trail in 1989.    In 1995 IBM left Linda with early retirement, so we moved
to Vestavia Hills; I subsequently worked for the IBM office in I/T support, then with Blue
Cross Blue Shield.   Linda worked for Consolidated Pipe, then Brasfield & Gorrie,
where she currently works (until 12/3/2008).   I took Social Security in 2006 and now
teach old folks how to play a card game!   Isn't America wonderful?   God bless us all.
